Our offer
Newcastle City Learning (NCL) is Newcastle City Council's adult and community learning provider. We will help you develop the skills and knowledge you need for work. We also offer Apprenticeships, Study Programmes for young people, and work with employers. If you have a business we can help you recruit apprentices and train your staff. We offer flexible learning opportunities with daytime and evening courses to fit around your other commitments. They are all taught by our friendly, experienced and qualified staff. Search for a course, and enrol for many courses online

The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority have confirmed the list of approved providers and programmes for skills delivery for 2026/27.
There are three key strands of programmes:
- Skills Foundation - building essential skills and confidence for individuals facing employment barriers to prepare them for progression.
- Skills Activation - targeting technical and sector-specific skills at Levels 2 and 3 to accelerate study, apprenticeships, and skilled employment opportunities.
- Skills for Work - aligns with employer demand to address skill shortages and supports career progression through employer partnerships.
